HOW DO I CLEAN MY LENSES?

Spray the lens (front and back) with a eyeglass cleaning spray before wiping them with a microfiber cloth.

*Dry lenses are more likely to be scratched by dust or other particles. Do not use your breath or saliva to wet your lenses, as saliva can leave bacteria on the lenses.

*If your lenses have anti-reflective (AR) coating, make sure the eyeglass cleaner spray you choose is approved for use on anti-reflective lenses.

Use a clean microfiber cloth to gently wipe your lenses. Keep your microfiber cloths clean by hand washing them with a few drops of blue Dawn soap and warm water. Allow to air dry. Do not wash microfiber cloths with fabric softeners or throw them in the dryer with fabric softener sheets. This can cause your lenses to smear and could become distorted.

DON’T RISK DAMAGING YOUR LENSES!

Do not use the following to clean your lenses, as these products can be abrasive and may cause damage:

◦    your shirt or other clothing

◦   toilet paper

◦   WINDEX or other glass cleaners

◦   paper towels

◦   Kleenex tissues

◦   alcohol (liquid or wipes)

◦   shaving cream

◦   acetone

◦   other household surface cleaners

CARING FOR YOUR NEW GLASSES

DO’s:

◦   When taking your glasses on and off, use both hands, one on either temple arm. Doing this will help maintain correct alignment and minimize changes to the fit of your frame over time.

◦   Remember, if your glasses are not on your face, they should be in their case. Never place them on a surface with the lenses facing down.

◦   Keep your glasses clean.

DON’Ts:

◦   Do not put your glasses or sunglasses on your head. This can stretch them out.

◦   Do not leave your glasses in a hot area, especially the dash of a car parked in the direct sun or in a hot car. The heat can warp the frame and / or lenses.

◦   Do not apply hot glue, crazy glue, or soldered metal to fix your broken glasses. This can void your warranty, according to the lab! If you have any damage to your glasses, bring them into our office for an Optician to assess.

◦   Do not try to buff out scratches. Eventually, your lenses will have a few scratches with typical wear and tear. Eyeglass lenses are scratch resistant, not scratch proof. We are unable to buff out scratches.
